The Cackalacky Cup is a three-day vintage-themed mountain bike festival with a little something for everyone. Mountain bike racing and riding, plus you never know who might show up. The 2009 event will help raise money for the Kariker family. Important stuff you need to know about the Cowbell Challenge Marathon: The Marathon Course is 6.30 miles to the Dirt, and an 8 mile loop for 6 laps. Cut-off time occurs 7 hrs after the 10 am start--that makes cutoff at 5pm. Start of the of the marathon race is on South St at the School Crossing sign, the one closet to Main St. Parking is available at the two schools on South St The middle school is about 100 ft from the start, and the elementary school is about 100 yards down. Please park at one of the schools. South St, will be blocked off at 9:30am. We strongly recommend Car pooling to the start of the marathon with a driver that can drive the car back to Fisher Farm Park for the finish.  We can transport a limited number of racers via bus if needed. Cowbell Race Weekend

Some of you have been asking how far is the black top road section of the marathon race to Fisher Farm Park; it is 6.25 miles to the dirt trails. The course: once inside the park will be about 9.25 miles of a race loop to do 5 times for a total of about 52.5 miles. The new sections will be done in two weeks; after the trails are complete I will be able to give the right info about the mileage on the race loop. After a skiing  accident left Kale Watkins paralyzed, his friends founded the non-profit  Tour de Kale in February of 2000 to help raise money to cover his  medical expense. Caesar’s Head Challenge

Saturday, June 13 Caesar's Head Challenge Are you ready for the challenge? Come out to Upstate South Carolina  Saturday, June 13, 2009 for one of the most challenging rides in the Southeast. Starting at the base of  Caesars Head State Park riders will have three route choices available.  All levels of riders, from beginner to professional, will be greeted  with a challenging event. A GranFondo style event we will be using chip timing for all  participants. Additionally riders completing the 62 and 100 mile  distances will be given a finishing time AND, as a special feature, a  separate time for the 6%, 6.4 mile, 2000' elevation gain climb to the  finish on top of Caesars Head. There will be rest stops for each route  and a catered lunch afterwards. We are supporters of Global Bike, a nonprofit organization providing  bicycle transportation for medical staff in remote African locations.
